"Amy" was referred to the NMC on ..... She received a "no case to answer" outcome. She tells us that she could not have got through the process without our support:

"Before I found (them) I was alone and very frightened, but afterwards I had a family who supported me...The support I received as a registrant received from NMCWatch is unlike that provided anywhere else.

After the initial contact with your union rep, there is often a long period of no contact

until investigations team decide whether or not to formulate charges.

Waiting is never nice, but this does give you time to reflect on actions and put learning in place.

However this is very hard to do when you are alone and terrified.

NMCWatch help you process your initial feelings and progress to a place where you can start to remediate.

Group members give helpful advice about such matters as to which courses you should undertake,

which employers are open to talking to someone with conditions of practice

and how to explain your job situation at a job interview. I can honestly say I owe my current job to NMCWatch.

I applied just 2 days before I found out about the complaint that resulted in referral to the NMC. ..

I was very tempted to bury my head in the sand and avoid telling my employer.

However my NMCWatch friends encouraged me to be strong, bite the bullet and be honest about my situation at the earliest opportunity."
